Saint Andrews 2012 - the beasts

What do Guiness, Grey Seals, Wii and Camera have in common (except for a few letters)? Well,
the answer lies in the following riddle: Piss off, Helicopter, as working with a bun
ch of idiots is the key to fun and efficiency!

Let's first enjoy a few seals...

There are two sorts of Grey seals: the naked ones and those that carry accelerometers on their head. Seals with accelerometers on the head should be confused with Wii seals as a Wii object is in any case rarely compatible with water, while the first is better suited to a watery environment...

Am I making myself clear?

Anyway.

Yoza illustrates well how seals and accelerometers can be reconciled. Miniature devices, once fitted onto the seals, can then help scientists reconstruct what seals are doing once they disappear under the water surface.

Because seals are extremely good swimmers, and this compensates for their sluggishness on land... Seals are in fact so at ease in the water that one finds it hard to resist the temptation of jumping in the water to swim along with them... But don't be fool... We are no match with them and rather stay bipedically stuck to the ground...
